Local service & scheduling

North Las Vegas and Las Vegas mobile computer repair

Do you provide computer repair in North Las Vegas?

Yes. Las Vegas PC Repair is a locally owned, mobile Windows PC repair business serving homes and small businesses in North Las Vegas. Instead of hauling a desktop computer or laptop to a storefront, you can arrange service at your location. See our computer repair services or call ☎ (702) 686-7277 to describe the problem.

Do you also service customers in Las Vegas?

Yes. We also work with residential and small-business customers throughout Las Vegas. We have served the Las Vegas area since 2006 and focus on personal service from an experienced local technician. Availability and travel arrangements depend on your address and the day.

What does mobile computer repair mean?

Mobile repair means the technician comes to your home or office to troubleshoot and repair your Windows computer when the work can be done on-site. You do not need to disconnect a desktop PC or transport a tower before calling. If a problem requires longer testing, we will discuss practical next steps first.

Can you come to my home in Aliante or another North Las Vegas neighborhood?

North Las Vegas neighborhoods such as Aliante, Eldorado and the Craig Ranch area are within our primary local service focus. Tell us your neighborhood or nearest major cross streets when you call so we can confirm appointment availability. There is no public walk-in storefront.

Do I need to know what is wrong before scheduling a repair?

No. Describe what you notice—slow starts, a blue screen, missing files, no Wi-Fi, unexpected shutdowns or a PC that will not turn on. Identifying the underlying cause is part of the job, and you can review the common problems listed under Windows computer repair.

How do I schedule a computer repair appointment?

Call ☎ (702) 686-7277 and describe your computer, symptoms, and location. We can discuss likely next steps, current scheduling, and an estimate before you commit to a visit. Calling is the quickest way to confirm an opening.

Do you offer same-day or emergency computer repair?

Same-day appointments may be possible when the schedule allows, but they are not guaranteed. If you have an urgent computer problem or a business workstation is down, tell us when you call. We will give you a realistic idea of availability and whether a mobile visit or another approach makes sense.

Is Las Vegas PC Repair a local business or a national call center?

We are a locally owned, owner-operated computer repair business, established in 2006. You work directly with a technician who handles diagnosis and repairs rather than being routed through a national dispatch center. Read more about our approach on the home page.

Do you repair Macs, iPhones, Android phones or tablets?

Our primary specialty is Microsoft Windows desktop and laptop computers, along with related PC hardware, networks and small-business support. We do not advertise Mac, cell-phone or tablet repair as standard services. If you have a Windows PC issue, call and explain what you need.

Costs, estimates & how repairs work

Clear expectations before we begin

How much does computer repair cost in North Las Vegas?

Our usual mobile service pricing has been a $75 service call plus $75 per hour for labor; replacement parts, when needed, are additional. Rates, promotions and the amount of labor required can change, so confirm today’s price before scheduling. We explain repair options before proceeding with additional work.

Do you charge a service-call fee?

A mobile visit ordinarily involves a service-call charge because the technician travels to you. Our usual service-call amount has been $75, but promotional rates may apply. Call before booking for the current rate and to ask how the visit is billed.

Can you give me an estimate over the phone?

Often we can discuss likely costs after hearing what the computer is doing, even if the precise cause is not yet known. Some issues need hands-on diagnosis to quote accurately, especially hardware faults and data recovery. We aim to explain what is known, what is uncertain, and what the next step will cost.

Will you explain the repair before replacing parts?

Yes. We focus on finding the fault rather than selling unnecessary upgrades. If a hard drive, power supply, memory module or other component needs replacement, we explain the reason and discuss your options before the work goes ahead.

How long does a typical computer repair take?

Some on-site fixes take an hour or two, while malware removal, Windows corruption, hardware testing and data recovery can take longer. Many of our jobs have a turnaround of about 24 hours, but that is not a promise for every repair. We will give you an estimate based on the actual condition of the computer.

Do you offer free computer repair or unlimited free phone support?

We are happy to discuss symptoms and whether a service visit makes sense, and the website invites customers to call for a free estimate. Hands-on diagnosis, repair and extended support are professional paid services unless a specific promotion says otherwise.

Should I repair an older computer or buy a new one?

That depends on its age, hardware, repair cost and what you use it for. An SSD or memory upgrade can make some older PCs useful again, while other systems are not economical to fix. We will tell you when replacement is the more sensible choice.

Will my files and programs be preserved during repair?

Preserving your files, settings and existing Windows installation is a priority whenever it is technically possible. Some failures require recovery work, replacement hardware or reinstalling Windows, so no technician can guarantee that every file survives every failure. If data is critical, mention it before troubleshooting begins.

Topic 03 / 10

Windows crashes, startup & software problems

Help for PCs that will not start or run reliably

Can you fix a computer that will not turn on?

Yes. A PC that seems dead may have a power-supply, motherboard, charging, memory or other fault. We troubleshoot the cause before recommending parts. Read more about our Windows PC diagnostics and repair.

Can you repair the Windows Automatic Repair loop?

Often, yes. A computer stuck on “Preparing Automatic Repair” may have damaged Windows files, a failed update, boot corruption or a failing drive. We first check the cause and the health of the storage device so repeated repair attempts do not make data loss worse.

Do you repair blue-screen errors on Windows 10 and Windows 11?

Yes. Blue-screen errors can come from bad drivers, memory, overheating, storage problems or damaged Windows components. We use the symptoms and available diagnostic evidence to find the root cause instead of assuming Windows must be erased.

Can you fix a computer that keeps freezing or restarting?

Yes. Random freezes and restarts can be caused by heat, power issues, defective hardware, software or drive problems. We test likely causes and explain whether the repair involves software, a component replacement or both.

Do you repair corrupted Windows without reinstalling everything?

Whenever practical, yes. We prefer to repair the existing installation and preserve applications, accounts and settings instead of using a clean installation as the first response. If a reinstall is unavoidable, we explain the trade-offs and discuss your backup options. Learn more about our repair-first approach.

Can you help after a failed Windows update?

Yes. Problems after an update can include a boot loop, login failure, driver conflict or missing functionality. Depending on the cause, repair may involve update rollback, driver repair, system recovery or hardware checks.

Can you help me move from Windows 10 to Windows 11?

Yes. We can check whether a PC meets Windows 11 requirements and discuss installation, settings, data and application compatibility. Windows 10 reached its standard end-of-support date in October 2025, so it is worth reviewing security and upgrade options rather than assuming an old PC is still fully supported.

Can you convert an older PC from MBR to GPT or legacy BIOS to UEFI?

On compatible hardware, we can evaluate converting a Windows installation from legacy MBR booting to GPT/UEFI. The process depends on disk layout, firmware support, encryption and Windows health. We plan the migration carefully and recommend a verified backup first.

Can you help when I forgot my Windows password?

We can help an authorized owner review legitimate Microsoft account recovery and local Windows sign-in options. What is possible depends on the account type, encryption and access to recovery methods. We do not bypass other people’s accounts or security protections.

Can you fix a computer that has no display or a black screen?

Yes. A blank display can involve the monitor, cable, graphics processor, memory, firmware, Windows or power. Testing determines whether it is a video problem, a boot failure or a hardware fault.

Viruses, malware & online scams

Careful cleanup while protecting important files

Do you remove viruses and malware in North Las Vegas and Las Vegas?

Yes. We provide virus and malware removal for Windows computers in North Las Vegas and Las Vegas. We investigate the infection, clean up threats and repair affected Windows components when possible while prioritizing your personal data.

Why is my browser showing fake Microsoft security warnings?

Many full-screen warnings and urgent phone-number pop-ups are scams designed to scare you into calling someone or granting remote access. Do not call the number in the pop-up or provide payment information. If you already interacted with it, call us so we can review the computer and next steps.

Can you remove a browser hijacker or unwanted extensions?

Yes. Browser hijackers may redirect searches, change your home page, push notifications or add extensions without your informed consent. We look for the source of the change, remove unwanted software and review browser settings and security.

Can malware be removed without wiping my computer?

Frequently, yes. We aim to remove threats and repair Windows while keeping your applications and files intact. Severe infections, compromised systems or damaged storage can sometimes require a different plan; we will explain those situations clearly.

Can you help if I let a scammer remotely access my PC?

Yes. Disconnect the computer from the internet if you suspect an active remote-access scam, avoid signing in to sensitive accounts on the affected PC, and contact your bank if money or banking credentials were involved. We can help inspect and clean the system; account security may also require changing passwords from a trusted device.

Can you remove ransomware and recover encrypted files?

We can investigate and remove many malicious programs, including ransomware, but removing ransomware does not automatically decrypt files. Recovery depends on the specific threat, backups and the damage done. If files are being encrypted, stop using the system and speak with us before attempting fixes. See data recovery options.

Do you install antivirus software?

We can assess Windows security settings and recommend practical antivirus and anti-malware protection, including built-in Windows security tools where appropriate. A good security setup also includes updated software, secure accounts and regular backups—not just an antivirus subscription.

Can you tell whether my PC has been hacked?

We can inspect symptoms such as unfamiliar remote-access software, suspicious startup items, browser changes and unexplained account activity. A computer inspection can reveal signs of compromise, but no single test can prove that every possible intrusion has been ruled out.

Data recovery & failing drives

Lost photos, documents and hard drive or SSD trouble

Do you recover data from hard drives and SSDs?

Yes. Our Las Vegas data recovery service works with eligible hard drives, solid-state drives and Windows computers that cannot access important files. We start by assessing the fault and protecting the original storage device when possible.

What should I do if my hard drive clicks or makes grinding noises?

Shut the computer down and avoid repeatedly powering the drive on. Clicking, grinding and repeated detection failures can indicate mechanical damage that worsens with use. Contact us to discuss safe next steps; some severe physical failures require a specialized clean-room recovery lab.

Can you recover accidentally deleted files?

Sometimes. Successful recovery depends on how the files were deleted, whether new data has overwritten them and whether an SSD’s TRIM function has removed recoverable blocks. Stop using the affected drive as soon as you notice the loss.

Can you recover data from a PC that will not boot?

Often, yes, if the storage device can still be read. We may be able to access or image the drive without starting Windows, then extract documents, photos and other files. The chance of recovery depends on drive condition and encryption.

Can you recover files after a drive was formatted?

Sometimes. The type of format, the storage technology and how much the drive has been used afterward all matter. Do not reinstall programs or copy files onto the affected drive before asking about recovery options.

Can you clone a failing hard drive to a new SSD?

When the original drive is readable enough, we may be able to image or clone it and move the working system or recovered data to a replacement SSD. We check the drive’s condition first; forcing a conventional clone on a physically failing disk can make matters worse. Learn more about SSD upgrades.

Can you recover files from an encrypted BitLocker drive?

Access to a BitLocker-encrypted volume generally requires its valid recovery key or another authorized unlock method. We can help you locate legitimate recovery-key options and assess the device, but encryption cannot be treated as a guarantee of recoverability without the key.

Can you help with a missing external USB hard drive?

Yes. A drive that does not show up may have a cable, USB port, enclosure, power, file-system or internal hardware problem. We can troubleshoot the connection and determine whether the priority should be recovery rather than trying to repair the drive in place.

Do you guarantee that my lost data can be recovered?

No responsible recovery service can guarantee every file will be restored. We explain what the initial diagnosis suggests and make data preservation a priority. If advanced laboratory work is needed, we can discuss whether a specialist referral is appropriate.

Topic 06 / 10

Slow computers, tune-ups & hardware upgrades

Make the PC you own work better

Why is my computer suddenly so slow?

Common causes include a failing hard drive, low memory, too many background programs, overheating, malware and Windows problems. We diagnose the specific cause before recommending changes. Our computer optimization service focuses on real improvements rather than one-click “speed booster” gimmicks.

Will an SSD make my old computer faster?

In many systems still using a mechanical hard drive, moving to an SSD can greatly improve boot and application loading times. The improvement depends on the computer’s other components and condition. We can assess an SSD upgrade and discuss whether existing Windows and files can be migrated.

Can you upgrade my PC’s RAM?

Yes, when the motherboard and system support it. We verify the correct memory type, supported capacity and whether more RAM would actually help the problem you are experiencing. Not every slow PC needs more memory.

Do you replace failing hard drives?

Yes. We can assess the drive, discuss replacement choices and help migrate Windows or recover files where the original is readable. If the drive appears to be failing, data protection comes before performance tuning.

Can you fix an overheating laptop or desktop?

Yes. Dust buildup, failed fans, poor airflow, aging cooling components and improper settings can all contribute to overheating. We inspect likely causes and recommend the appropriate repair; some laptop cooling assemblies require model-specific parts.

Can you upgrade graphics cards, processors or other PC parts?

We can evaluate graphics card, memory, storage and other compatible desktop upgrades and explain power, cooling and motherboard requirements. Processor and motherboard upgrades may also affect Windows activation or drive encryption. See our hardware upgrade services.

Are computer tune-up programs worth buying?

Many advertised “PC cleaner” tools provide little benefit, and some are misleading or unwanted software. A good tune-up starts with diagnosing the actual bottleneck, checking storage health, startup activity, drivers, malware and cooling. We avoid treating automated cleanup as a substitute for diagnosis.

Can you speed up an older Windows 10 computer?

Often, yes, but the best improvement depends on the hardware and whether it is sensible to keep using it. We can discuss SSDs, RAM, startup problems and Windows 11 compatibility, along with the security implications of Windows 10 after its standard support ended.

Wi-Fi, printers & home networking

Get computers and connected devices working together

Do you troubleshoot home Wi-Fi problems in North Las Vegas?

Yes. We help North Las Vegas and Las Vegas customers diagnose weak Wi-Fi, unstable connections, computers dropping offline and local network configuration issues. Some problems originate with the internet provider rather than the PC, and we explain what the testing finds.

Why does my laptop keep disconnecting from Wi-Fi?

Possible causes include a Wi-Fi adapter or driver issue, power-saving settings, router configuration, interference or weak signal. We compare how other devices behave and test the laptop and network before deciding what to change.

Can you set up a new router or mesh Wi-Fi system?

We can help evaluate router and mesh network setup for compatible home or small-office environments. Placement, network settings and the building’s layout matter as much as equipment brand. We discuss any change that could interrupt connected devices before making it.

Why is my internet slow on only one computer?

If other devices are fast, the problem may be the PC’s Wi-Fi adapter, wired link, background traffic, security software or Windows configuration. Testing wired versus wireless speeds can help narrow it down before you buy a new router.

Do you help with wireless printers and printer connections?

We can troubleshoot Windows printing, network discovery, drivers and connectivity for many common home and office printers. Mechanical printer repairs and cartridge or printhead damage may need a printer specialist.

Can you help share files between Windows computers?

Yes. We can review Windows sharing settings, permissions, local network connectivity and reasonable backup practices. Business file sharing may require additional security and account management depending on how sensitive the data is.

Can you fix a computer that says connected but has no internet?

Yes. That symptom can result from DNS settings, network adapter issues, router or modem trouble, provider outages or damaged Windows networking components. We isolate the cause before resetting equipment or altering your network.

Gaming PCs & custom builds

Troubleshooting for high-performance Windows systems

Do you repair gaming PCs in Las Vegas and North Las Vegas?

Yes. We work on Windows gaming desktops with crashes, overheating, failed boot attempts, hardware instability, driver problems and performance concerns. Desktop gaming systems may need extra testing because several parts can produce similar symptoms.

Can you diagnose gaming crashes or low FPS?

We can check GPU and CPU temperatures, memory stability, storage health, drivers, background load and appropriate settings. FPS depends on game, hardware and resolution, so the goal is to identify abnormal performance rather than promise a specific frame rate.

Can you install a new graphics card or power supply?

Yes, where the selected components are compatible. We check wattage, connectors, physical clearance and cooling before installing new hardware. Our hardware upgrades page covers related options.

Do you build custom computers?

Yes. We can discuss a custom Windows desktop built around your budget and needs, whether the focus is everyday productivity, gaming or business use. Part selection, availability, assembly labor and setup should be discussed before ordering.

Can you help after a motherboard or CPU replacement?

Yes. Board changes can introduce boot configuration, driver, Windows activation and BitLocker recovery-key issues. We can diagnose the new hardware setup and evaluate whether your existing Windows installation can be retained.

Can you troubleshoot RGB fans, cooling and BIOS settings?

Yes. We can evaluate fan control, BIOS/UEFI settings, system temperatures and compatible cooling hardware. We prioritize stable temperatures and safe operation over risky overclocking or cosmetic settings.

Small-business computer & office IT support

Practical Windows help for local offices

Do you provide small-business computer repair in Las Vegas?

Can you help when an office computer cannot access shared files?

Yes. We can troubleshoot the Windows computer, networking, drive mapping and permissions to identify the cause. If you use a server or cloud service managed by another provider, we can coordinate the troubleshooting steps as appropriate.

Do you service dental offices or computers running industry software?

We can troubleshoot Windows PCs and networks used by offices, including systems with line-of-business applications. Changes involving specialized software, databases or regulated records may require coordination with the software vendor and your designated IT or compliance contact.

Can you help with business email or Microsoft Outlook problems?

We can assist with many Outlook and Windows email-client problems, such as account configuration, synchronization, profiles and local data files. The right fix depends on whether the mailbox is hosted by Microsoft 365, Yahoo, Google or another provider, and whether a backup is required first.

Can you provide remote computer support?

Remote help may be appropriate for some software and configuration issues once the computer is connected and you authorize the session. Hardware failures, boot problems and some network issues require a hands-on visit. We will tell you which method is suitable before connecting.

Can you help reduce downtime at a small office?

We can evaluate practical improvements such as maintaining reliable Windows workstations, checking aging drives, choosing sensible SSD upgrades and discussing backups. For business-critical systems, we recommend planning recovery and access requirements before a failure occurs.

Will you make changes to our office router or security settings without asking?

No. Network changes can affect phones, work-from-home equipment, printers and cloud services, so we discuss the issue and proposed work before making disruptive changes. Sensitive businesses should keep their network administrator and software vendors involved when necessary.

Before & after your repair

What to expect from the first call through follow-up

What information should I have ready when I call?

Tell us your location, whether it is a desktop or laptop, the version of Windows if known, when the problem started and any error message you can see. Mention unusual sounds, recent updates, liquid damage or missing files. You do not need to diagnose the PC yourself.

Should I back up my computer before a repair?

If the computer is healthy enough and your data is not already at risk, a current verified backup is always wise. If the drive is clicking, disappearing or showing signs of physical failure, stop using it and ask about data recovery before running a normal backup.

Will you tell me if repairing my PC is not worth the cost?

Yes. We explain the likely repair cost in relation to the system’s age, condition and usefulness. The aim is to earn long-term trust by recommending a sensible option, not to talk you into replacing parts you do not need.

Do you support both Windows laptops and desktop towers?

Yes. We troubleshoot supported Windows laptops and desktop computers, including custom-built towers and many major PC brands. Some manufacturer-specific or physically damaged components may require special parts or a dedicated repair facility.

What if the computer has important work files or family photos?

Tell us immediately so we can prioritize protecting your data. Data recovery, backup and operating-system repair are different tasks, and the safest order depends on the symptoms. We do not promise impossible recoveries or casually wipe a drive to make a problem disappear.

How do I get help with computer repair near me?
